The Office of Workforce Development provides training services for business and industry. The primary mission is to prepare people for the workplace of the future through customized training in manufacturing. Working in partnership with area businesses to advance technological, interpersonal, and management skills, the NH Division of Economic Development (NHDED) assists companies in meeting their training and educational goals by first identifying the specific needs of the organization. They also help business and industry deal with the rapid evolution in technology, management practices, and sophisticated manufacturing and quality initiatives. Littleton Academic Center

The college currently offers courses at the Littleton Academic Center, 646 Union Street. This center is a branch of the Berlin campus. Specific courses can be developed to meet the needs of your company. Many courses, including basic skills as well as some certificate and degree options, are available. Classes are held during evening hours and at other times of the day, and it is possible to complete a number of associate degree and certificate programs

Business Liaison Program

Plymouth State University (PSU) is a regional comprehensive university located in northern New Hampshire on Interstate 93 at the gateway to the White Mountains. Its mission is excellence in higher education, applied research, and service to the community. PSU has a reputation for being fully engaged in its surrounding region and for being a reliable partner in generating solutions to practical problems. The University is very interested in working with the business community.

PSU provides the northern regions of New Hampshire with a wide array of resources and expertise in support of businesses, communities, organizations, and governments.   • The Small Business Institute (SBI) is a nationally recognized PSU service, winning the SBI Directors Association Showcase Award for the most outstanding SBI program in America for 2003-2004. For more than 30 years, the SBI has provided high-quality business consulting and field case studies to small business clients, while also providing extraordinary learning experiences for senior and graduate level students.   • The Center for the Environment (CFE) develops the capacity for conducting economically-relevant applied environmental research in the region. CFE has award-winning expertise in the disciplines of Environmental Planning, Water Quality and Hydrology, Laboratory Services, Landscape Best Management Practices, and National Resource Inventories.   • The Center for Rural Partnerships (CRP) is a creative and important outreach effort by PSU to directly benefit rural people and communities in New Hampshire, New England and the United States. The CRP expertly facilitates the University?s instructional, research, and service capacity in collaborating with businesses, organizations, communities, and government entities. It supports rural policy analysis, development, and implementation at the ground level on a daily basis. The CRP is a convener, a facilitator, an initiator, an information source, and an organizer of people and resources for the advancement of rural economic development, energy use, forest ecology, and entrepreneurship.   • The Institute for New Hampshire Studies (INHS) explores the geographic economics of New Hampshire in relationship to other New England communities. Founded in 1975 the Institute advances knowledge and research about the New Hampshire economy, culture, and traditions frequently applying an interdisciplinary approach. The Institute is the leading authority on New Hampshire tourism and performs research for the state Division of Travel and Tourism Development as well as for private industry. Mark Okrant, Director.
  • The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) is one of the fastest-growing enterprises at PSU. The primary goal of the graduate program is to accommodate adult students with a wide variety of instructional and degree programs that offer convenient accessibility and maximum flexibility. CGS provides professional development and high-caliber programming for highly-motivated people who are dedicated to advancing their knowledge and career skills. The PSU graduate program has more than 80 ongoing partnerships with schools, school districts, professional organizations, non-profit agencies, institutions of higher education, and businesses.   • The Frost School (FS) is the newest outreach initiative at PSU. Established in 2006, its mission is to provide alternative access to quality higher education for the citizens of New Hampshire (particularly those in the central and northern regions). Alternative access is offered through evening, weekend intensive, online and blended formats. The FS is designed specifically for those students who want to balance their continuing education with work and family responsibilities. The FS serves the education needs of businesses, organizations and communities by developing and delivering academic courses, programs, certificates, and degrees as needed, when needed and where needed.
